This week we learned a bit about Blooms Taxonomy. I was already introduced to his theories a few years ago, but it was a good refresher. His ideas are based around the different objectives that educators set for students. It looks like this
.
We were assigned to fill out a chart using an online class of our choosing. The class is one that you already teach or one that you plan to teach. I choose to “plan to teach” a high school online photography class. I included only the first 3 modules, which would be Module 1: History, Getting to know your camera, Module 2: Shooting in RAW, and Module 3: Composition and Intro to Photoshop. The class would also include a final portfolio of the students entire work from the course. This would be turned in at the end as a final assessment tool.
This week I struggled with the directions for the assignment, so I ended up basically doing it twice. I was able to use most of the information from the first chart on the second chart so it wasn’t that bad. I have attached my newest chart under the main page. Feel free to check it out and leave some comments on how It could still be improved.
I began working on my final project, and I am actually feeling ahead of the game. I had a weekend without many outside activities so I was able to get a head start. I should knock on wood right now probably, but I feel if I am able to keep working at this same pace I will not have to be stressed over the final project.
I am however feeling quite stressed from trying to build a k-6 art curriculum for September, as well as creating other projects and lessons for an after school art club that I also took under my wing. Yikes!
